This privacy notice for Sunwaee Inc (doing business as SUNWÆE) (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our“), describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share (“process“) your information when you use our services (“Services“), such as when you:
Questions or concerns? Reading this privacy notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at privacy@sunwaee.com.
This summary provides key points from our privacy notice, but you can find out more details about any of these topics by using our table of contents below to find the section you are looking for.
What personal information do we process? When you use our Services, we process:
Do we process any sensitive personal information? We do not intentionally solicit or require sensitive personal information (such as social security numbers or health data). However, because our Services involve processing text and files provided by you, we may inadvertently process sensitive information if you choose to include it in your prompts or uploads.
How do we protect the personal information inside your prompts? Our privacy gate ("Aegis") is on by default. Before your messages or tool results are sent to any AI model provider, we automatically detect personal values in them — such as email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, IP addresses, payment-card numbers, and credentials — and replace them with placeholders. The AI providers only ever see the placeholders; the real values are encrypted and stored only on our own systems. You can turn this protection off in your settings.
Do you receive any information from third parties? When you connect a third-party account (such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, GitHub, Notion, or Linear), we receive content from that account so our assistant can act on it at your request. We also receive the responses generated by the AI model providers you interact with through our interface.
How do you process my information? We process your information to provide our Services (including relaying your prompts to AI models), to maintain your chat history for your future access, to communicate with you, for security, and to comply with the law. We do not use your Service Content to train our own models.
In what situations and with which types of parties do we share personal information? To provide the Service, we must share your prompts and uploaded content with the third-party AI model providers you select (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI). We also rely on a small set of service providers that help us deliver specific features — for example, connecting your third-party accounts, transcribing your voice, searching the web, storing your files, processing payments, and sending you email. We do not sell your personal information.
How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.
What are your rights? Depending on your location, you have rights regarding your data access and portability. Unique to SUNWÆE: You have the right to delete your chat history at any given time through SUNWÆE interface. When you choose to delete a chat, it is effectively a "hard delete" — the data is permanently removed from our active databases and is not merely archived or hidden.
How do I exercise my rights? The easiest way to exercise your rights is by deleting your chats from SUNWÆE interface at https://sunwaee.com or by contacting us at privacy@sunwaee.com.
Want to learn more about what SUNWÆE does with any information we collect? Review the notice in full below.
Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us, including your account data and the content you input into our AI tools.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:
Sensitive Information. We do not proactively solicit or require sensitive personal information (e.g., social security numbers, health data, or religious beliefs). However, because our Services involve processing text and files provided by you, we may inadvertently process sensitive information if you choose to include it in your prompts or uploads. All such data is treated with the same high level of security as your other Service Content.
Payment Data. When you purchase a subscription, your payment-card details (such as the card number and security code) are collected and stored directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we never receive or store your full card number or security code. We store only a customer identifier, your subscription status, and your transaction history (amounts and dates). To prevent abuse of our one-time free trial, we also retain a one-way hash (a non-reversible fingerprint) of your payment card and a normalized form of your email; we cannot recover the card or email from these hashes. You may find Stripe's privacy notice here: https://stripe.com/privacy.
Application Data. SUNWÆE is a web application that can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your desktop or mobile device. If you choose to provide access or permission, we may request access to your device's microphone (for voice input), storage, or camera (for file and image uploads). We deliver notifications through the in-app notification center, by email, and — if you opt in — through browser push notifications on the devices where you enable them (including the installed PWA on mobile). To deliver push notifications, we store the subscription details provided by your browser's push service (an endpoint address and the public keys used to encrypt messages to your device) together with a label for the device, until you turn push off or remove the device. Push notifications are sent through your browser's push service (for example, Apple, Google, Mozilla, or Microsoft, depending on your browser), which delivers the message to your device on our behalf. You can disable push notifications at any time in your notification settings or in your browser or device settings.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Limited technical information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and basic device/browser characteristics — is processed automatically when you use our Services, for security and operation.
When you use the Services, our systems and our hosting provider automatically process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, and the dates and times of your requests. We use this information only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services (for example, to authenticate requests, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors). We do not use third-party web analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioral profiling, and we do not build a profile of you for marketing purposes.
In Short: We process your information to provide our AI aggregation services, maintain your chat history, communicate with you, ensure security, and comply with the law. We do not use your prompts or other Service Content to train our own models.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
Performance of a Contract. We may process your personal information when we believe it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. This includes:
Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, such as when you opt in to marketing communications or when you connect a third-party account (e.g., Gmail or Google Drive) and authorize us to access its content. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Legitimate Interests. We may process your information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests, provided those interests do not outweigh your fundamental rights. These interests include:
Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, or to disclose information as evidence in litigation.
Vital Interests. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.
In legal terms, we are generally the “data controller” under European data protection laws of the personal information described in this privacy notice. If you are using SUNWÆE as an individual, we determine the means and purposes of the processing.
If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.
We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:
In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following categories of third parties.
Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents (“third parties”) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties designed to help safeguard your personal information. The categories of third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:
We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
In Short: We are not responsible for the safety of any information that you share with third-party websites or services that we may link to, or that are generated within our Services.
The Services may link to third-party websites, online services, or mobile applications that are not affiliated with us. Additionally, because the Services aggregate various AI models, those models may generate responses containing links to external websites.
Accordingly, we do not make any guarantee regarding any such third parties, and we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of such third-party websites, services, or applications. The inclusion of a link towards a third-party website, service, or application does not imply an endorsement by us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy notice. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the Services. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.
In Short: We use cookies and similar technologies only for essential and functional purposes — keeping you signed in and remembering your language preference. We do not use cookies to track your behavior across the web.
To keep you signed in, we store your authentication tokens in secure, HTTP-only cookies (a session token and a refresh token) that your browser cannot read from script. If you use the Services as a guest, your guest token is held in your browser's local storage instead. We also set a cookie to remember your language preference. These technologies are essential to the operation of the Services; clearing or rejecting them will sign you out and may affect functionality.
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
In Short: We offer the option to sign in with your Google account, in addition to email-based sign-in.
You may register and sign in either with a one-time link sent to your email address, or by signing in with your Google account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and the name and profile picture associated with your Google account, which we use to create and identify your account. We request only basic profile and email permissions through sign-in; we do not access any other Google data through the sign-in process. (Separately, you may also choose to connect Google services such as Gmail, Drive, or Calendar as connectors — see "When and with whom do we share your personal information?")
In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own, primarily Canada and the United States.
Our servers are located in Canada. If you are accessing our Services from outside Canada, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us in our facilities in Canada.
However, because SUNWÆE relies on third-party AI models and service providers, your Service Content (and any connected-account content you ask the assistant to act on) must be transferred to the third-party AI model providers used for your request and to the service providers listed above (including our AI, voice-transcription, web-search, file-storage, and email providers) to deliver the Services. Most of these providers are located in the United States.
In addition, two of the AI models we offer — DeepSeek and Moonshot — are operated by providers based in China. If one of these models is used to answer your request, your prompt content for that request is transferred to China. These models are used only when you select them manually. Our automatic ("Sun") model auto-router does not route any request to DeepSeek, Moonshot, or any other China-based provider — it selects only from providers based in the United States. If you never manually select one of these models, your prompt content is not transferred to China.
International Transfer Safeguards:
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law. When you delete a chat, it is permanently removed from our active database.
We only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).
User-Controlled Retention:
Automated Retention: When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
Aegis privacy gate. As an additional safeguard, our Aegis privacy gate is enabled by default. Before your messages and tool results are transmitted to third-party AI model providers, Aegis automatically detects personal values within them — including email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, IP addresses, payment-card numbers, government identifiers, and credentials — and substitutes non-identifying placeholders. The underlying real values are encrypted at rest on our own systems and are never transmitted to the AI providers. You can disable Aegis at any time in your settings. You may also mark individual files as private, in which case their contents are never shared with the AI assistant — only basic metadata such as the filename is visible to it.
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records using our "hard delete" protocols.
If you become aware of any data we may have collected from individuals under the age of 18, please contact us at privacy@sunwaee.com.
In Short: In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), and Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. You can make such a request by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section “HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?” below.
Exercising Your Rights: You can make such a request by contacting us using the contact details provided in the section “HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?” below. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Self-Service Erasure: Note that you can exercise your right to erasure (the "right to be forgotten") at any time by using the delete functions within the SUNWÆE interface. As noted in Section 9, deleting a chat or message results in a permanent "hard delete" from our active databases.
We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. You can find their contact details here: https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en.
If you are located in Switzerland, the contact details for the data protection authorities are available here: https://www.edoeb.admin.ch/edoeb/en/home.html.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent by contacting us or, where applicable, by adjusting your account settings. Please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal.
Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send or by contacting us. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. However, we may still communicate with you for service-related messages that are necessary for the administration and use of your account (e.g., sign-in links or billing updates).
Account Information: If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate and perform a "hard delete" of your account and all associated chat history from our active databases. We may retain a limited record of the transaction for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or to resolve disputes.
Cookies and similar technologies: As noted in Section 6, we use essential cookies to maintain your session and a functional cookie to remember your language preference. Most Web browsers are set to accept these by default. If you choose to clear or reject these technologies, it will result in you being logged out and may affect the functionality of the Services.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at privacy@sunwaee.com.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes.
SUNWÆE does not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
In addition, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the following rights:
Notice at Collection: We collect your email address (and, with Google sign-in, your name and profile picture), the Service Content you provide, and content from any third-party accounts you connect at your instruction. We use this information to provide the Services, maintain security, and improve our platform. We do not intentionally collect "Sensitive Personal Information" as defined by California law (like precise geolocation or social security numbers), though you may include such information in your prompts or uploads.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@sunwaee.com.
